I have created this Blog to give myslef and others the opportunity to identify the 'Impact of IT'.
EG
Effect on local communities; economic eg employment structure, working practices, sustainability; legal eg ownership, copyright, plagiarism; ethical eg privacy of information and unequal access.
Does this mean I don't have to do the handout?
ReplyDeleteYou've mentioned quite a few of the issues there. When you say the "Impact of IT", the social impact of the internet and the WWW are a very large part of that - more later, I hope. But there is also the hardware and software that made those two possible, and have made a great many other things possible too - spreadsheets, databases and mobile 'phones to name but three.
ReplyDeleteIT makes communications, business and speaking to friends easier because the internet makes it so easy to send messages, if there is no internet then things are slower
ReplyDeleteIT has no impact on communities
ReplyDeleteIT helps Keep in touch with friends and family far and close away it also makes everyday life much easier
ReplyDeleteIT impacts everything
ReplyDeleteIT has a very big impact on society
ReplyDeleteit has a big impact because people are lossing jobs because computers are taking over
ReplyDeleteIT and the WWW is one of the biggest resources on the planet. The Internet can be used for online shopping, searching for jobs or advertising products and so much more.
ReplyDeleteThe internet, overall, makes life easier for communities.
IT has revolutionised the way in which we communicate over the past few years massively, it's hard to imagine life without it...
ReplyDeleteIf there was no IT .... oh dear
ReplyDeleteI Agree that no it the world would crash
ReplyDeleteMaybe it would now - all the banks and what have you doing millions of transactions every second.. Makes you wonder how we managed when I was growing up - we didn't even have calculators when I was at school! (And, hey! I'm not that old.)
ReplyDeleteAs stated above, IT & the internet have had a massive impact on everyone & everything, and that most of the developed world now depends on IT.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, although the internet/IT is useful for keeping in touch via social networking etc., many people are now staring at an LCD screen from 10 inches away from them, alone and for hours on end. The very same people might have gone out into the real world and had a more 'face to face' social life before the internet was so absorbing.
I know I'm sort of going off on a tangent here, but it has been recently proven how sites such as facebook have had an impact on people, particularly younger people. Further reading here =]
